Portrait Tips:

Clothing & Make-Up:
  • Clothing: What colors look best on you?  Don't be afraid of bright colors.  Make sure the neckline and shoulders fit properly.
  • One can never go wrong in white t-shirts and jeans.
  • GREEN SCREEN TIPS: Because we use the latest technology in green screen portraits, it is best to stay away from wearing green.  If you want to wear green.  It's not a problem as we can use a blue screen background instead.  Green screens produce better background images.
  • Eyeglasses: It is very important to reduce the chances of magnifications, reflection and darkening of lenses.  If at all possible, remove lenses or borrow empty frames from your optician.
  • Make-up & Hair:  Keep it simple.  If you wish to cut your hair, it is best to do so at lease a week before your session as it normally takes a few days to settle down after the cut.  Please remember to bring a hair brush with you.
  • Guys, shave the morning of your portraits.
  • Ladies, here are some tips for wearing make-up.  Keep it simple...
  • Eyeliners: If you use eyeliner, use it sparingly to enhance your eyes.
  • Eye Shadows: If you are using eye shadow, it should be applied subtly to enhance the eyes, not to add color.  Use as little as possible and stay with neutral or subdued colors.
  • Blush: Use blush sparingly or not at all.  If you want to use blush apply it lightly to the cheekbone to add color.  This is especially important for black and white photographs as the blush will show as a shadow and make the cheekbones seem to recede.
  • It is a good idea to bring some make-up with you in case you need to touch up during the session.

Advice for Younger Children, Babies and Newborns:

  • If your child/children has a favorite toy that they really like, bring it along as this will help.
  • Children/Young Adults under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.
